Our client:
An award winning food production company based in the heart of Fife are looking for a multi skilled night shift manager to support, manage and motivate the night shift team.
Hours of work (Sun to Thursday 10pm-6am)
Position Overview:
The shift manager will be crucial in overseeing the efficient functioning of the manufacturing, engineering, and warehouse departments during the night shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing personnel, ensuring machinery maintenance, and maintaining optimal inventory levels of raw materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Oversight:
Manage and supervise nightshift production teams to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Implement and enforce operational procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate with the Production Manager to optimize production workflows.
Engineering Management:
Coordinate with the engineering team to schedule and execute preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Ensure the onsite engineer is notified of any breakdown & repairs on time to minimize downtime.
Work with onsite the engineer to enhance machinery reliability and performance.
Warehouse Coordination:
Work closely with the warehouse team to monitor and manage raw material inventory levels.
Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of raw materials.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and stockouts.
Personnel Management:
Recruit, train, and manage nightshift personnel, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Address employee concerns and ensure compliance with company policies.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols during nightshift operations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure all employees are trained on safety procedures and use protective equipment.
What is required to be considered for this role:
Qualifications / Experience required:
Proven experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery.
Familiarity with engineering and maintenance practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
